Lord's Supper Policy

The Lord's Supper is a sacrament of the Christian Church instituted by Christ Himself. The elements of bread and wine symbolize  for believers, the broken body and shed blood of Christ. Our partaking of the bread and wine symbolizes our communion with Christ.

Since the Lord's Supper is for believers only, our church requires visitors to testify that they truly believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and are in good standing in a faithful Christian church. As long as people confess the Christian faith and there is no obvious ungodliness in their public life they may be admitted to the Lord’s Supper.

The Bible requires us to examine ourselves before we partake of the Lord's Supper (1 Corinthians 11:28). We must recognize that  we, as sinners, are unworthy of God's redeeming grace. Nevertheless, we may joyfully partake of the Lord's Supper if we trust in Christ alone, and His atoning sacrifice, for our salvation.

1. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Messiah, the Son of God, who died for sinners, and I have asked God to save me from my sins, trusting that Christ’s one sacrifice on the cross has saved me from the penalty of sin, so there is no penalty left for me to pay.

2. I have been baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and I have publicly confessed my faith in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.

3. I am a member in good standing of a true and faithful Christian church – one which subscribes to the one and only true Gospel that sinners are saved by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone.

4. I am seeking to show my thankfulness for my salvation by keeping God’s commands, as Jesus said, “If you love Me, keep My commands.”
